Home health aides and personal care aides top the list of fast-growing jobs published by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, but the phenomenon is not limited to that Nation at all. In fact, it has global proportions. As the population ages, hundreds of thousands of professionals are needed all around the world to help old people with daily living tasks like bathing, brushing teeth, or using the bathroom. Personal care aides also prepare meals and handle various housekeeping activities.

2. Software developers

As mobile consumption and the need for new apps show no sign of slowing down, software developers will continue to be highly demanded. Knowing how to code won’t be enough, though. As machine learning will replace the work of entry-level programmers, these professionals will be required to have high level skills like data structures and a deep understanding of AI.

Physical therapists are on the top of all the main lists of jobs expected to outpace the market by 2050, especially in the U.S.A. These professionals help injured people improve their mobility through stretches and therapeutic exercises. Assistants and aides for therapist is also a promising market.

4. Nurses

Here’s another consequence of aging population: nurses are – and will be even more – in demand all over the world. Their tasks normally range from evaluate patient symptoms and run diagnostic tests, to administer medications and treatments. They are needed in hospitals, doctor’s offices, private and specialized clinics. 

5. Luxury Industry Workers

In Italy, the luxury industry is suffering a lack of technicians and skilled tradespeople. According to Altagamma Foundation, which gathers High-End Italian Cultural and Creative Companies, more than 236.000 talents will be needed from now to 2023 in all the main luxury sectors. 

Automotive will create the most jobs, since it will need 89.400 among designers, mechatronic engineers and maintainers.  The food industry will follow, looking for winemaking technicians, communication specialists, and wine tourism guides. Finally, the fashion industry will search for footwear technicians, design technicians and fabric technicians.  Hospitality, design, and mobile companies will also be hiring.
